This is my testimony in Biblical terms; to describe what God can and does do to wretched sinners like me, who are enslaved to sin in every way, so that you and I might take hope in God, for He alone can set the captive free; and so that you can relate in whatever your state…

(This testimony reads best after reading 1 John.  It was written as part of a Precept Upon Precept Bible Study of 1 John.)

Praise be to God, for He spoke life into my dead heart saying, “Awake O sleeper, arise from the dead”, and He made Christ shine on me and in me. I was formerly darkness and I was loving it. I hated the Light, and I hated those who belonged to Him. O thanks be to God who opened the eyes of my heart to believe and see the Life, the Lord Christ Jesus, the Light of the world.

I was stumbling in every way in darkness, groping for satisfaction and pleasure, overtaken and enslaved to the deeds of darkness, not wanting to even go near the Light for fear I would be exposed; not just for what I had done, but for who I really was. But God, being rich in mercy and because of His great love, exposed me. But instead of just being exposed and suffering the wrath of God in judgment, which I fully deserved and earned, I experienced the mercy and grace and great love of God. This great love spoke light into my life when I was still dead and in sin, saying “let there be Light”, and Christ shined light into my darkness.

So yes, I was exposed, but instead of experiencing fear and disbelieving, I believed the Light, the Light which has come into the world. I was enlightened so that I received Christ as my Treasure, as my Pleasure, as my Joy, as my Master, as my Lord, and as my God. I was given the right to be a child of God, born again, fully alive, walking in newness of life in the day. No longer was I stumbling, but I was running to the Light to see deeds not exposed, but manifested, being wrought in God, bought through Christ’s blood. I started loving God, loving the brethren who belong to the Son, and loving my enemies. I started knowing where I was going, being able to see that the darkness is fleeting and passing away with its temporal pleasures. I was seeing the True Light who was shining, and who is shining, and who will always forever shine. I’m seeing Him brighter and brighter, no, I am seeing Him more and more clearly; for in Him there is no darkness at all “God is Light!!!”

I am totally in awe of God…

I am totally in awe of God, that He my King would have me hear Him, and He would bring me into fellowship with Him and His Son Jesus Christ who died for me, yes, but lives and gives me the power to walk in Light being cleansed of sin by His blood. For I am not walking perfectly in light without sin, I am not a liar, but the Truth is in me therefore I am continually confessing and repenting of sin and am cleansed and washed never to be forsaken, never to be cast away from His fellowship; for He is Faithful and Righteous. The more I am purged of my sin and purified, the more light I shine through Christ, who is removing and will remove all my darkness with His glorious Light.

I will tell you that at times it is uncomfortable as this little light of mine shines. For it exposes those in darkness and those who say they are in the Light, but hate their brother and walk in darkness. I see some scurry and hide in the dark, feeling exposed and guilty. Yes, for just like me they are indeed guilty, laid open and bare and exposed by Light. They justify, lie, and hide. Oh how I desire that they would feel exposed, guilty, and naked, but would have ears to hear the gospel. Not hearing “not guilty” but hearing that God has provided the Guilt Remover, THE LAMB OF GOD, CHRIST, THE LIGHT of all men and BELIEVE; hearing yes, guilty but IN CHRIST, JUSTIFIED!!!

Through the blood of the Great I AM you need not die in your sins…

Through the blood of the Great I AM, you need not die in your sins, for all who believe in Christ will not remain in darkness but will rather join in the fellowship of the saints with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, by the will of the Father, through the blood of the Son, and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

But God being rich in mercy and because of His Great Love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions made us alive in Christ—by grace you have been saved through faith, it is the gift of God. ~Ephesians 2:4-5
